A New Year Message From AASL
January 1, 2010
When we first started the Arlington Athletic & Social League, we had just a handful of softball teams. Over the years, we've added new sports like bowling, dodgeball, flag football, and volleyball. With everybody's help, we've now grown to become the biggest social sport league in Arlington with over 5,000 registrations in 2009. But the best is yet to come.

Starting in 2010, AASL will be joining the CHASE Sports Group network to offer you new sports, bigger parties, and more fun. Providing you with a competitive yet social sporting environment will always remain AASL's top priority but we can now offer you more than just somewhere to play sports. Together with the CHASE Sports Group, you can look forward to free tailgate parties with DC United, a chance to qualify for the World Series of Flip Cup, and exciting field trips on the Boomerang Bus. Also, check out some of our new sport offerings like broomball, cornhole, and kickball.

It's going to be an exciting year and we want you to be a part of all the fun. We're even looking for new board members to help us plan bigger parties around town. So if you had a great 2009 season, then brace yourself for the 2010 seasons.

Megan Shoup

Arlington Athletic & Social League
The Arlington Athletic & Social League, LLC (AASL) is a sports league in Arlington designed to bring together two activities that most people love doing...playing sports and socializing! These two events are a perfect combination for young professionals who live or work in or around Arlington.

The AASL will offer participants the opportunity to play in various sports leagues throughout the year. All sports will be co-ed, which will provide a great atmosphere to meet hundreds of young professionals. The AASL also will give participants the opportunity to socialize after the games at at various bars with Miller Lite drink specials. Not that people need a reason or incentive, but it makes it fun to go out with your team and meet other teams in the league.

There will be records, playoffs and champions, but all AASL players will be encouraged to not take themselves or the competition too seriously and to have fun. Whether you're new to the area and looking to meet new people or want an excuse to get your friends together, AASL will be a great outlet physically and socially! Click on the Sports Registration Calendar link or any of the individual sport links above for important dates and registration information.
