You may have seen a bunch of invites and notes flying around. Why? Well, there’s a LOT going on right now.
It’s an exciting time at DC Broomball, with the spring season in full swing, pick-up games coming up and a BIG EVENT on the horizon.
Here’s a quick recap of what’s going on…
PICK-UP GAMES
We have various DC Broomball pick-up games on the calendar starting 10:30PM SATURDAYS at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
As with all DC Broomball pick-up games, this will be played on clean ice with broomball shoes. Also, we’ll be hitting up Bailey’s for a few beers afterward. Come on out this Saturday, and for our other upcoming pick-up games, to get your broomball swerve one.
END OF SPRING SEASON PARTY
After the spring season of DC Broomball comes to a close, we’re having ANOTHER huge bash to celebrate our third successful season and hand out some hardware.
Come on out to Bailey’s on May 14, 2010 at 8PM for:
-free chow (wings, pizza)
-serious beer specials (talls for the price of smalls)
-food specials ($2 off appetizers)
-free pool, darts and shuffleboard in our private room
We’ll also be handing out awards to each team’s MVP and presenting the Commissioner’s Cup to the spring season champions.
Just ask anyone who came out last season…this is an awesome event that you're not going to want to miss.
THE WASHINGTON, DC BROOMBALL INVITATIONAL (DCBI)
Speaking of awesome events...the DCBI is an annual charity broomball tournament sponsored by DC Broomball and local Washington, D.C. area businesses that features some of the preeminent co-rec broomball teams in the US battling it out for the Congressional Cup.
I encourage all broomball fans and players to come on out June 12-13, 2010 at Kettler Capitals Iceplex to watch some of the games and cheer on DC’s own Nomadic Hordes as they look to add the Congressional Cup to their trophy case.
Admission is free to come out and watch. T-shirts and raffle tickets will be sold at the event with all profits going directly to our official charity, the Southeast White House (Click Here).
There will also be a party (more details shortly) the night of June 12, 2010.
SUMMING UP
There’s a ton of exciting events going on right now in the DC Broomball Universe. I hope to see you all out for our upcoming pick-up games and our end of season party. Also, mark the DCBI on your calendars to watch some amazing broomball and support a great charity.
